Aaron ben Joseph of Buda was a Judæo-German poet of the seventeenth century, who was captured in the city of Buda, the capital of Hungary, on September 2, 1686, when the imperial troops, under the command of Duke Charles of Lorraine, finally wrested it from the power of the Turks.
Hugh Capet, king of France, made Arnulf archbishop of Reims in 988, even though Arnulf was the nephew of the King's bitter rival, Charles of Lorraine.

One of these heirs was Edward of Pfalz-Simmern, Count Palatine and his daughter Anne, because she was a great-granddaughter of Charles of Lorraine, Duke of Mayenne through her mother Anna Gonzaga.

This creation became extinct in 1688, and the lands passed to Anne, Pfalzgravine of Simmern, a great-granddaughter of Charles of Lorraine, Duke of Mayenne (whose mother happened to have first married the 5th Duke of Guise) – although she was not the heiress in primogeniture, that being the Duke of Mantova and Montferrat.
The next brother, Francis, the third Earl, was one of the most celebrated men of his time: he was brought up at Olmütz, at the imperial court, and in the service of Duke Charles of Lorraine, whose most intimate friend he became.
His antipathy for the Catholic League, shared by his brother, President Christophe de Thou, made his position difficult when the people of Chartres, who were devoted to the League, shut their gates to the troops of King Henry III on January 17, 1589, subsequently welcomed Charles of Lorraine, Duke of Mayenne, and recognized the aged Cardinal de Bourbon as king.
On June 30, 1766, she was one of fifteen actors granted exclusive right by Empress Maria Theresa of Austria to perform in Brussels, known as the Ordinary Actors to H.R.H. Prince Charles of Lorraine, governor of the Austrian Netherlands.
