Chi's works have been shown extensively throughout the United States including at the Portland Museum of Art in Maine and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (1948); the Miami Beach Art Center (1952); the La Jolla Art Center and the Witte Museum (1953); and the Charles and Emma Frye Art Museum in Seattle (1955).

The Chen Chi Art Museum opened in Shanghai in 1999 on the campus of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, to display Chen Chi’s works and promote an international exchange of art and education.

It was designed by the architect and artist Chen Chi-Kwan in collaboration with the firm of noted architect I. M. Pei, and named in honor of the Rev. Henry W. Luce, an American missionary in China in the late 19th century and father of publisher Henry Luce.
He created greeting cards for the American Artist's Group as many contemporary artists like Chen Chi, Eyvind Earle, Norman Rockwell, Ralph Avery, Hans Moller, who also created seasonal greeting card designs year after year for the American Artist’s Group.
