After the death of her third husband, Holdridge made a cameo appearance in the 2000 feature film, The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas.
He then married a former dancer named Julie Phelps (19 October 1908-24 October 2003), and adopted her daughter Cheryl.
His parents later divorced, and John gained his only sibling, a much younger stepsister, Cheryl Holdridge, after his father remarried.
