"Kidung Abadi" (Indonesian for "Eternal Ballad") is a song written by father and daughter team Erwin and Gita Gutawa for the Kidung Abadi Chrisye concert; the concert was held on 5 April 2012 to commemorate the fifth anniversary of Chrisye's death.
Frans Sartono, writing for Kompas after Chrisye's death in 2007, found the album to "cleverly" (cerdik) include white reggae influences from The Police.
When preparing his 2002 cover album Dekade (Decade), Chrisye approached Latjuba to perform two duets, "Kangen" ("Longing") and "Anggrek Bulan" ("Moon Orchid"), with him on the album; Latjuba accepted.
