During the next two decades, Foldi established himself as a character actor of the first rank in opera houses throughout Europe and the U.S., among them La Scala, Wiener Staatsoper, Zurich Opera, Glyndebourne Opera, Cincinnati Zoo Opera and Santa Fe Opera.
For most of its first fifty years, Cincinnati Opera's performances were held at the Cincinnati Zoo Pavilion.
In 1987, parts of the zoo were designated as a National Historic Landmark, the Cincinnati Zoo Historic Structures, due to their significant architecture featured in the Elephant House, the Reptile House, and the Passenger Pigeon Memorial.

In Phase IV, the zoo will add the largest part of the future attraction, a wide Savannah teeming with some of Africa's most spectacular hoofstock such as Zebras, Gazelles, and Giant eland, along with some of the world's largest birds like ostriches, Marabou storks and grey-crowned cranes.

The Reptile House is the oldest zoo building in the United States, dating from 1875.
The June 14, 1936 issue of The New York Times states that she also performed with the Cincinnati Opera at the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden with other opera singers such as Rosemarie Brancato, Anna Leskaya, Jean Pengelly, Norma Richter, and others.
