McKenzie represented England and Great Britain throughout his amateur career which culminated in representing Great Britain at the 1976 Olympics in Montreal, Canada.

Following his retirement from playing football he is currently following in his father's Clinton McKenzie and uncle's Duke McKenzie footsteps and embarking on a career in boxing.

He is the son of former British and European boxing champion Clinton McKenzie and nephew of three time world boxing champion Duke McKenzie Leon is now a singing artist his 1st single (Finally) was released on iTunes and features celebrity big brother's MC Harvey.
McKenzie was originally a middleweight boxer and was the All England National Amateur Boxing Champion, he is an older brother of boxer Duke McKenzie, and a younger brother of boxer Clinton McKenzie.
