After a Master's Degree in History of Art from the Courtauld Institute of Art in London, he joined Sotheby's in 1994 as a Director of their Paris office.
The following year, she was part of the East Wing Collection, Courtauld Institute of Art and her work was praised as "a microcosmic representation of the Collection itself".
She studied at Worcester Girls' Grammar School, followed by study of the history of art at the Courtauld Institute in London.
In 2000, he joined the McLaren Group as Managing Director, becoming Deputy Chairman in 2005.In 2007, he left McLaren and took a career break to complete a Graduate Diploma in the History Art at the Courtauld Institute.
Basu was sent to Rome, Italy to be trained for a year in 1960 and in 1977 for a month in London at the Courtauld Institute of Art.

Newhall continued his graduate studies at the Institute of Art and Archaeology of the University of Paris, and the Courtauld Institute of Art in London.
He serves on the board of the Dedalus Foundation, the Members’ Board of the Phillips Collection, Washington, D.C, the American Advisory Committee of the Courtauld Institute of Art, the American Committee of the Praemium Imperiale, and the Advisory Committee of the Kate Weare Dance Company; is a Member of the Association of Literary Scholars, Critics, and Writers, and an Honorary Member of Proyecto Armando Reverón, Caracas.
She completed an MA with Distinction from the Courtauld Institute of Art in London, presenting her master's thesis on Adrian Piper and Carrie Mae Weems.
Millar was educated at Rugby School and the Courtauld Institute of Art at the University of London, graduating with an Academic Diploma in the History of Art.
