England is the hub for considerable research in the preparation of cricket pitches, and some outstanding research has recently been conducted by Cranfield University working with the ECB and the Institute of Groundsmanship (IOG).

Ronald Webster Park

According to the March 2009 edition of The Wisden Cricketer magazine, the ground "is reputed to have the best pitch in the Caribbean for pace and even bounce. If the rumours are believed, it has something to do with meticulous rolling at night under the light of a full moon".

Feethams was unusual in that after entering the turnstiles through the Twin Towers (not related to those at Wembley), spectators had to walk around a cricket pitch in order to enter the ground.

St Agnes, Isles of Scilly

The surrounding grassland, which is also a cricket pitch, is notable for the clovers amongst its flora including western clover (Trifolium occidentale), suffocated clover (T. suffocatum) and subterranean clover (T. subterraneum).
