It is uniquely packed into halved pitogo (Sago Palm of the genus Cycas) shells and sealed with red crepe paper in a similar manner to the Bohol Kalamay.
Cycas first appeared in the back some 280 million years ago Earth Paleozoic Permian.
Was identified, confirmed that this is a rare new species of Cycas, known as "Panzhihua Cycad" and given the botanical name Cycas panzhihuaensis.
Bacteria that do associate with plants include the actinobacteria Frankia, which form symbiotic root nodules in actinorhizal plants, and several cyanobacteria (Nostoc) associated with aquatic ferns, Cycas and Gunneras.
