Daniel F. Cohalan (1865–1946), Irish-American leader and judge of the Supreme Court of New York State.
Beginning his career as an Assistant D.A. handling cases in the Boston Municipal Court, he would later begin prosecuting juvenile cases in the Boston Juvenile Court.
In 2007, Galouye was named as the recipient of the Cordwainer Smith Rediscovery Award, which is co-sponsored by the heirs of Paul M. A. Linebarger (who wrote as Cordwainer Smith) and Readercon.

Between 1961 and 1973, Galouye wrote five novels, notably Simulacron Three, basis of the movie The Thirteenth Floor (1999) and the German TV miniseries, Welt am Draht (1973) (directed by Rainer Werner Fassbinder).
Thus, from December 20, 1850, to March 3, 1851, he was the First District's duly elected member of the Thirty-first Congress.
He was interred in St. Johns Catholic Cemetery, in Orange, New Jersey.
In November 1935, Steck was jokingly appointed by Iowa Governor Clyde Herring as one of his counsel, along with Minnesota Governor Floyd B. Olson, to defend him against a citizen's criminal complaint filed against Herring for unlawful gambling.
He received his episcopal consecration on the following September 24 from Archbishop John Quinn, with Bishops Michael Kenny and Joseph Ferrario serving as co-consecrators, in St. Mary's Cathedral.
