He has served as Executive Editor for Art in America magazine, as contributing editor to The Village Voice, as Staff Songwriter for Glaser Publications in Nashville and as Arts Editor for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
In 2005, the University of Texas Press released a compendium of his entire career entitled Splendor in the Short Grass, edited by and with an introduction by Jan Reid and W.K. Stratton, and with a foreword by Dave Hickey and a remembrance by Robert Draper.
LVAM celebrated Las Vegas Diaspora: The Emergence of Contemporary Art from the Neon Homeland curated by Dave Hickey from Sept. 30 to Dec. 30, 2007.
Additionally, contemporary art writer and scholar Dave Hickey, in his 2004 exhibition at the Otis College of Art and Design, christened Feitelson and the other Hard Edge painters as The Los Angeles School.
The album was originally released as part of a limited-edition volume of Gerhard Richter's paintings which also contained poetry and essays by Dave Hickey and Klaus Kertess inspired by the artist's work.
