After the opening of the Dazhou–Chengdu Railway (达成铁路) (via Suining) in 1997, and the Suining–Chongqing Railway in 2006, another, shorter, railway route between Chengdu and Chongqing, via Suining (so-called 成遂渝铁路), 312 km long, appeared.
Dazhou, Sichuan (达州市), prefecture-level city in the northeast of Sichuan
•
Kingdom of Dazhou (大周; 1354–1367), Chinese state established by Zhang Shicheng
Dazhou, Sichuan gained notoriety for the corruption of Dazhu County (大竹) officials that caused mass a protest in January 2007.
Strategically, Linshui County is on the only path out of Sichuan province in the east, as the connecting point between Dazhou – a municipal city in the north – and Chongqing, the municipality city in the south.
Though departures and arrivals are somewhat limited at this station, it is quite useful for trips to nearby destations such as Guiyang or Dazhou.
