Brigadier General Devereux died at age 85 in Stella Maris Hospice in Baltimore, Maryland on August 5, 1988 from pneumonia.
Devereux has also coached soccer for a number of years at schools and for clubs including college and youth-teams in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.
