The postcards in the video were posted by anonymous people onto the website PostSecret, a project where users can create their own cards; sharing their darkest secrets and posting them to the website without giving their name or any other details.
Artwork from the site was blown up to poster size and used as the background in the 2005 All-American Rejects music video for "Dirty Little Secret."

The album's lead single "Dirty Little Secret" was released June 6, 2005 and peaked at #9 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States as well as #4 on both the Pop 100 and Mainstream Top 40 charts respectively.
He spent the past years investigating the topic of aluminum and human health and wrote a book, 'Dirty Little Secret - The Aluminum Files' (only available in German) and directed a 90-minute documentary film, 'The Age of Aluminum' where he explains the science behind the threat that he infers from certain aluminium compounds (e.g. Aluminium sulfate by referencing the Camelford water pollution incident)
