Dornblaser Field

The first ivy-covered stone venue opened in 1912 on campus at the base of Mount Sentinel; it hosted the Griz until an off-campus stadium opened in 1968, a "temporary" stadium which held 12,500 spectators in steel and wood bleachers.


1951 Montana Grizzlies football team

The Grizzlies were led by third-year head coach Ted Shipkey, played their home games at Dornblaser Field and finished the season with a record of two wins and seven losses (2–7, 1–4 MSC).
