Coppelius (or Fantástico mundo del doctor Coppelius, El) is a 1966 Spanish English-language comedy film based on the ballet Coppelius directed by Ted Kneeland and featuring Walter Slezak and Claudia Corday.
In episode 2 of the anime Coppelion Aoi stated that their unit was named after "Coppélia", saying that just like Coppélia, a beautiful life size doll created by Dr. Coppelius, they were living dolls created by genetic engineering.
He joined the American Ballet Theatre in 1988, where he danced roles such as Birbanto and Lankendem in Le Corsaire, Lead Gypsy in Don Quixote, Head Fakir in La Bayadere, Dr. Coppelius in Coppelia, and an Ugly Stepsister in Ben Stevenson's Cinderella.
