After making 30 Days of Night with Josh Hartnett in 2007, Sainsbury left acting to set up the African based arts charity Dramatic Need of which she is a trustee.
The Board of Trustees includes the Oscar-winning film director Danny Boyle and South African-born actor Sir Antony Sher.
The play was dedicated to the work of Dramatic Need and intended to raise money for the Pete Patsa Arts Centre.
