, a subsidiary of Nestlé, is a United States-based producer of ice cream and frozen yogurt founded in 1928 as Edy's Grand Ice Cream in Oakland, California by Joseph Edy and William Dreyer.

2006: Dreyer's Whiskey Bottom Ice Cream plant in Laurel, Maryland, is expanded to give Dreyer's the two largest ice cream plants in the United States.

Rick Cronk

William F. "Rick" Cronk (born 4 October 1942) is an American businessman who was co-owner and president of Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream.

Though not a failure, the chain struggled and then in 1977 Cronk and close friend and associate, T. Gary Rogers, purchased Dreyer's, which was then a popular ice cream company operating exclusively in the San Francisco Bay Area.
