Etsu Abubakar II (1919–1926) was responsible for moving the Divisional Office from Baro to Agaie in 1920, and for opening the Agaie market.
In July 2009 he was part of a delegation led by the Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar and including the Etsu Agaie, Muhammadu Kudu Abubakar that called on the House of Assembly to consider formation of a new Edu State as a base for the Nupe people.
Kusodu was appointed the 13th Etsu Nupe on 11 September 2003, traditional leader of the Nupe people who live in Niger, Kogi, Kwara and Benue states, in succession to Alhaji Umar Sanda Ndayako.
