Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital (or GTBH or GTB Hospital) is a 1500 bed government hospital situated at Dilshad Garden and is affiliated to and acts as the teaching hospital of University College of Medical Sciences.
Long before the trans yamuna (now known as East Delhi) area, thus called because it lied across the Yamuna River from the main city of New Delhi, was colonized by the government, this was natural low-lying area, land depression where rainwater collected, which was also fed by excess run-off from a cut in the Hindon River.
