1992–93 New York Knicks season

The Knicks had the most wins in the Eastern Conference during the regular season, and their 60–22 record earned them the conference's top seed in the 1993 NBA Playoffs.

Ryan Whitney

Under the guidance of new general manager, Ray Shero, the Penguins improved from a last-place finish in the Eastern Conference the year before, to a playoff berth, with Whitney part of the youth movement in Pittsburgh that included forwards Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, Jordan Staal and goaltender Marc-André Fleury.

1967 American Football League Championship Game

The Oilers went from last place in the Eastern Conference in 1966 to first in '67, beating out the New York Jets by a game. Most of the Oilers' offense centered on big fullback Hoyle Granger, and a midseason quarterback trade for the shifty Pete Beathard (sending their own starter, Jacky Lee, to the Kansas City Chiefs) proved to be the spark that turned Houston's season around.

Ivan Johnson was named Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month for April.

2011–12 ECHL season

The Colorado Eagles joined the Western Conference's Mountain Division, while in the Eastern Conference, the Wheeling Nailers moved to the Atlantic Division and the Chicago Express occupied the North Division spot left vacant by the Nailers.

2012–13 ECHL season

The San Francisco Bulls joined the Western Conference's Pacific Division, while in the Eastern Conference, the Orlando Solar Bears joined the South Division and the Fort Wayne Komets and Evansville IceMen joined the North Division following the departure of the Chicago Express.

Bulls–Knicks rivalry

In one of the most argued calls in NBA history, a questionable foul was called by Hue Hollins (who ironically was the same referee who officiated the controversial finish in Game 5 of the 1993 Eastern Conference Finals, and arguably opted not to call a foul on Charles Smith's multiple putback attempts in the waning seconds) in the closing seconds of Game 5 against Pippen, which gave Hubert Davis two free throws to turn a one-point deficit into a one-point victory for the Knicks.

Cristobal Huet

On January 13, 2007, Huet was announced as one of the three goalies of the Eastern Conference All-Star Team in the 55th NHL All-Star Game in Dallas.

Jason Terry

The Boston Celtics finished 41-40, with one game against the Indiana Pacers not played because of the Boston Marathon bombings, and clinched the 7th seed of the Eastern Conference to make the playoffs.

Jeff Ayres

Pendergraph was ejected from Game 7 of the 2013 Eastern Conference Finals by referee Ken Mauer after a shoving match with Miami Heat guard Norris Cole, who was also ejected in the fourth quarter.

Jeff Foster

Foster was part of the Pacers' 1999–2000 Eastern Conference championship team, though he played only 19 games that year as he was fourth on the Pacers' depth chart at center behind Rik Smits, Sam Perkins and Zan Tabak.

John Havlicek
