Edwin Lankester

Rushton emigrated to Java, married, and raised a family, the only one of Edwin's offspring to do so.

He co-founded the important Quarterly Journal of Microscopical Science (QJMS) in 1853, and co-edited it with George Busk, and later with his son Ray.

John Thomas Quekett

His work in this direction is commemorated by the Quekett Microscopical Club, which was established in 1865, under the presidency of Dr. Edwin Lankester.

Vestiges of the Natural History of Creation

The most authoritative scientific and literary weekly was the Athenaeum, and its anonymous review of 4 January was by Edwin Lankester.
