Henning Berg

Born in Eidsvoll, Berg played for Vålerenga and Lillestrøm before coming to England.

Parliament of Norway

The parliament in its present form was first constituted at Eidsvoll in 1814, although its origins can be traced back to the allting or common assemblies as early as the 9th century.

Shire of Eidsvold

Eidsvold was named after the Norwegian town of Eidsvoll, where the Norwegian declaration of freedom was signed in 1814.


Ada Madssen

The National Museum of Art, Architecture and Design owns three of her works, and she is also known for statues of Queen Maud near the Royal Palace, Oslo (erected 1959) and Camilla Collett at Eidsvoll (erected 1977).

Carsten Tank

Carsten Tank was married first to Bartha Sophie Leth (d. 1795) from Halden, and secondly to Catherine von Cappelen (1772–1837), sister of Didrich von Cappelen (1761–1828), who was the deputy for Skien to the Norwegian Constituent Assembly at Eidsvoll in 1814 which established the Constitution of Norway.

Christopher Borgersen Hoen

He represented Buskerud at the Norwegian Constituent Assembly at Eidsvoll in 1814, together with Frederik Schmidt who was vicar of Eger and Johan Collett who was County Governor of Buskerud.
