On the environmentally sensitive Königssee only battery-electric launches are permitted, and a fleet of 18 such launches are operated.

Electro-Dynamic, relocated from Philadelphia to Avenel, New Jersey, went on to manufacture electric motors for numerous submarines built by Electric Boat and PT boats built by Elco.
In 2002, Electric Boat conducted preservation work on the Nautilus, preparing her for her berth at the US Navy Submarine Force Library and Museum in Groton, Connecticut, where she now resides as a museum.
