Exclusive Records was a record label established by Leon René, which existed from 1944 to 1949.
The song was heard by the owner of Exclusive Records, Leon Rene, who wanted to record it although in live shows Liggins' performance often ran to fifteen minutes.

Lauderdale then purchased in 1950 all the master recordings by the Charles Brown-led "Johnny Moore's Three Blazers" from Leon René's Exclusive Records plus the masters by Brown's ex-wife, Mabel Scott.
