The Western Way interchange was not scheduled to open until Spring of 2006 to coincide with the opening of the new Animal Kingdom ride Expedition Everest.
In 2005, the Walt Disney Corporation consulted with Miller on a new attraction called Expedition Everest and used photographs he took while on his journey in the Himalayas researching the Yeti.
