He made his official debut on 2 August in the 0:1 home loss against Liverpool F.C. in a UEFA Europa League preliminary round match and played his first league match for the team from Gomel on 17 August - a 0:0 away draw with FC BATE Borisov.
Also in anticipation of the soccer match between "BATE" (Belarus) and "Valencia" (Spain) the band posted on the internet supporting video "BATE Got The Power!".
He also made the first team at Goodison Park against BATE Borisov in the Europa League.
On 7 December Riverola made his first official appearance for the main squad, coming on as a substitute for Sergi Roberto in the dying minutes of a 4–0 home success against FC BATE Borisov for the season's UEFA Champions League.
