Count Renaud de la Frégeolière (29 April 1886 - 16 April 1981) was a French author who became the first president of the Fédération Internationale de Bobsleigh et de Tobogganing (FIBT - International Bobsleigh and Tobogganing Federation), serving from 1923 to 1960.
The FIBT World Championships 1938 took place in St. Moritz, Switzerland (Two-man) and Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany (Four-man).
Pensperger would be awarded a posthumous gold medal from the FIBT along with his surviving teammates Ludwig Siebert, Helmut Werzer, and Roland Ebert.
The FIBT World Championships 1986 took place in Königssee, West Germany for the second time, having hosted the event previously in 1979.
The FIBT World Championships 2015 will take place at the Winterberg bobsleigh, luge, and skeleton track in Winterberg, Germany for the fourth time, after hosting the event previously in 1995 (Bobsleigh), 2000 (Women's bobsleigh), and 2003 (Women's bobsleigh).
In September 2010, he was elected President of the Fédération Internationale de Bobsleigh et de Tobogganing (FIBT), ending the 16 year presidency of Canada's Robert H. Storey.
