Created by writer Fabian Nicieza and artist Rob Liefeld, the character first appeared in New Mutants vol.1 #99 (March 1991), after which he became a member of the superhero team X-Force.
After her two and a half year stint with Acclaim Entertainment under the direction of editors such as Madeleine Robins, Evan Skolnick, and Fabian Nicieza, D'Orazio joined the DC Comics staff in 2000 as Coordinator in their Creative Services department.
