The Goddard sank in a storm on October 22, 1901 in Lake Laberge Yukon and was first found in 2009; the recordings were discovered a year later, after exploration of the vessel.

Music written by Fay Templeton and preserved on two 1896 and 1897 gramophone recordings was discovered in June 2010 aboard the wreck of the Klondike Gold Rush paddlewheeler A. J. Goddard.

The gramophone recording process used on these discs was by inventor Emile Berliner.
Before her vaudeville days Fuller was on the legitimate stage in productions like the libretto Adonis, by Edward E. Rice and William F. Gill and Edward E. Rice’s Evangeline, in which she stepped in to replace Fay Templeton when the actress was unable to go on stage.
