The site has been used of late for World Rally Championship to service the rally cars whilst they compete in the Welsh Rally, a round of the (WRC) World Rally Championship.
During 2008 the Golden Valley saw the construction of the National Grid’s 196 km natural gas pipeline from Felindre to Tirley.
The community of Gwernyfed was established in 1985 through the merger of the former Aberllynfi community, the greater part of the former Tre-goed & Felindre community, and small parts of the Bronllys and former Llanelieu communities.
