Neil Patrick Harris was Sugar's first choice to play Prince Gumball; she explained that she wanted to impress her brother Steve, who was "obsessed" with the Music Meister (portrayed by Harris) from Batman: The Brave and the Bold.
As of August 6, 2013, she also has written and illustrated Fionna and Cake comics for BOOM! Studios.
