The Estate is named after the Chinese "Four Beauties" (“四美” whose homophonic transliteration is "Simei") who were known to be the legendary four most beautiful women of ancient China.

For a brief period, the roads in the estate were named after Xi Shi, Wang Zhaojun, Diaochan and Yang Guifei, the legendary Four Beauties in Chinese history.
