Union Minister G. K. Vasan released the audio cassette of Sivi at a function held in Chennai on 29 July 2007 with attendees including directors Ameer, Subramaniam Siva and Tamil Film Producers Council president Rama Narayanan.
After the demise of Moopanar, his natural, legal and political heir G. K. Vasan, the present Union Minister of Shipping, merged Tamil Maanila Congress with its parent organization 'Indian National Congress' under the leadership of Sonia Gandhi in 2002.
In 1959, S. S. Vasan was making a Tamil film which would be a bilingual to Hindi film Paigham starring Dilip Kumar and Vyjayanthimala with theme built around capital-labour relations.
This starred the famous singer Dandapani Desikar with the film and soundtrack becoming a runaway superhit in Tamil Nadu.
