The community’s best known winegrower is Paul Fürst, who in 2003 became the year’s best winegrower, according to the Gault Millau wine guide.
In 2004, two restaurants, both of chef Marc Veyrat, the Maison de Marc Veyrat (or L'Auberge de l'Eridan) in Veyrier-du-Lac near Annecy and La Ferme de Mon Père ("My Father's Farm") in Megève, received this score.
Yamaguchi, Caparoso and other partners went on to open more than thirty other Roy's restaurants from Tokyo to New York, garnering such distinctions as a James Beard Foundation Award, a Gault Millau "Top 50 In the U.S." ranking, and enshrinement in Nation's Restaurant News "Fine Dining Hall of Fame."
