George Duncan Beechey

He journeyed to Egypt from 1821 to 1822 and in the 1830s to India, and was appointed court painter to the Nawab of Awadh in Lucknow.

Ghazi-ud-Din Haider

Ghazi-ud-Din first appointed a British artist, Robert Home (1752–1834) as his court artist and after his retirement in 1828, he appointed another Briton, George Duncan Beechey (1798–1852) as his court artist.


Frederick William Beechey

Three of his brothers were painters: the admiral and painter Richard Brydges Beechey, the portraitist Henry William Beechey, and the portraitist George Duncan Beechey.
