9493 Enescu is an asteroid named for the Romanian musician George Enescu.
Over the years he performed works by composers such as Johann Sebastian Bach, Ludwig van Beethoven, Béla Bartók, Ernest Bloch, Johannes Brahms, Claude Debussy, George Frideric Handel, Joseph Haydn, Paul Hindemith, Darius Milhaud, Sergei Prokofiev, Robert Schumann, Grigoraș Dinicu, George Enescu, César Franck, Fritz Kreisler, Ottokar Nováček, Gaetano Pugnani, Pablo de Sarasate and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
In 1945 he worked with composer George Enescu to raise relief funds for Romanian famine, including a United States tour.
During this time he also studied privately in Paris with the famous Romanian violinist George Enescu, Yehudi Menuhin's teacher.
Although there is no place named Batushany, a number of populated places with similar names exist, including Botoşani in Romania's region of Moldavia and the village of Butuceni in the self-proclaimed Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic in the Republic of Moldova.
