In 1983 he was made an AM (Member of the Order of Australia) in the 1983 Queen's Birthday Honours List for his services to the theatre and the performing arts.
Notable theatre credits include creating the role of Roger Chan in Nick Enright’s A Man With Five Children for the Sydney Theatre Company directed by George Ogilvie and most recently playing Banzai in the Australian/Asian Tour of Disney’s The Lion King directed by Julie Taymor.

While at NIDA Graeme studied under such luminaries as George Ogilvie (Mad Max, Bodyline) and George Whalley (On Our Selection, Harp in the South) and worked on Whalley’s Jane Street Theatre production of Waiting for Godot which starred Mel Gibson and Geoffrey Rush.
