Agostino Falivene born from Giffoni in the province of Salerno, of the Order of the Servants of Maria, was Roman Catholic bishop of the island of Capri from the 25 September 1528 to the 24 April 1534 in that Pope Paul III transfers it to the island of Ischia where he died in 1548.

Giffoni Film Festival, a children's film festival placed in Giffoni Valle Piana
In 2008, the first edition of the Giffoni Hollywood took place at the Kodak Theatre, which has been the home of the annual Academy Awards Ceremonies (The Oscars), with guests such as Will Smith and Jon Voight.
In 2008 the company produced the film "Inside of Me", a short film financed by the Ministry of Heritage and Culture, and in 2009, they produced "In the Belly of the Whale", a short film directed by Giuseppe Petitto, original screenplay by Martha Capello and Marisa Gentile, financed by the Lazio Region, recognised as the National Cultural MiBac and won the "Premio Corzo Lazio" for best screenplay, in competition at the Giffoni Film Festival, Genoa, Bari.
