During her tenure President Gloria Bromell Tinubu led a strategic planning effort to change the college from a four-year liberal arts program to a college of entrepreneurship and business, and established partnerships with accredited colleges and top-tiered universities.

At the age of four, her family moved to her parents’ hometown,Plantersville, located in Georgetown County, South Carolina.

She ran as a Democrat for Congress in South Carolina's 7th Congressional District, losing to Republican Tom Rice.

In 2012, Bromell Tinubu ran for the Democratic nomination in the newly created South Carolina's 7th congressional district against S.C. Representative Ted Vick and Myrtle Beach attorney Preston Brittain.
