Albert Winsemius

During his term as Chief Economic Advisor from 1961 to 1984, Dr Winsemius worked closely with Lee Kuan Yew, Goh Keng Swee and later with Goh Chok Tong.

History of the Republic of Singapore

The Economic Development Board was set up in 1961 by Goh Keng Swee, and with the assistance of Dutch economic advisor Dr Albert Winsemius, national economic strategies were formulated to promote Singapore's manufacturing sector.

In 1965, Goh Keng Swee became Minister for the Interior and Defence, and initiated the formation of a national defence force, called the Singapore Armed Forces, which was to be established by the time of the British withdrawal.

Outward Bound Singapore

Initially named the Outward Bound School of Singapore (OBSS), it was founded by then Minister of the Interior and Defence and Deputy Chairman of the People's Association, Goh Keng Swee in 1967.
