Anastasius Germonius

As archdeacon at Turin he was a member of the commission appointed by Pope Clement VIII to edit the Liber Septimus decretalium (later known as the Constitutiones Clementinae); and he also wrote Paratitla on the five books of the Decretals of Gregory IX.

Wilbrand van Oldenburg

In 1227 Wilbrand was moved by pope Gregory IX to the Bishopric of Utrecht because of his military experience, in order to replace bishop Otto van Lippe, who had died at the Battle of Ane.

William of Auxerre

In 1231, he was made a member of the commission appointed by Gregory IX to examine Aristotle's writings on the natural sciences and to offer amendments where religiously necessary.
