Her birth took place in Eskilstuna and was just after her family was released from captivity at Gripsholm, during which she had been conceived.

John Erik Franzén (born 1942) is a Swedish artist, mainly a painter, born in Stockholm, most known for several large paintings portraying cars and motorcycles, as well as being the artist behind the portrait of the royal family of Sweden added to the public exhibition at the castle in Gripsholm in 1985, and original paintings for several stamps also portraying members of the royal family.
The first member of the family to go, Jacques Adrien Masreliez (1717-1806) from Grenoble, traveled to Sweden in 1748 to decorate the chapel of the royal castle; the library of Louise Ulrique at Drottningholm, where the Swedish royal family lives today; the king's bedroom at Gripsholm; and the organs of the Uppsala Cathedral.
While this order, founded in the French valley Chartreuse in 1084 and introduced in Sweden by a royal land donation at Gripsholm in 1490, is known as one of the strictest of the Catholic Church, it was however thrown out of the kingdom by King Gustav Vasa in the 1520s together with many other abbeys, and it is since mostly remembered for the liqueur, Chartreuse, produced by the monks in France.
