After two week's early losses alongside fellow Argentine partners in Challenger tournaments, he teamed with Guillermo Coria to reach the Naples Challenger semifinals, and then with Luis Horna to reach the Monza Challenger semifinals.
In his brief career as a junior, he lost his only matches against future top pros Guillermo Coria and Nicolas Mahut, split his two matches with Paul-Henri Mathieu, and won his only encounter with Boris Pašanski.
