While their counterparts Index and News36 restarted operations at the start of the following semester, KTRM remained off the air until December because of delays in installing equipment that will make the station capable of broadcasting with a digital signal.
The station is owned by Entercom Communications and runs an adult album alternative format as "105-5 Triple M." WMMM-FM also airs "The Delta," a 24-hour blues music format on its HD Radio subchannel (105.5-HD2).
On July 12, 2010, WVIP began broadcasting in HD; its HD2 subchannel broadcasts its sister AM station, WVOX, while its HD3 subchannel offers a feed of continuous country music programming.
The operation of its facility was in high-level combined hybrid mode with an existing 35 kW analog transmitter, a new Nautel 1 kW HD Radio transmitter, with the digital exciter, importer and exporter providing the digital signal component.
WNRG-FM is also the first station in the Saga Communications Rhythmic Top 40 line up to be launched on a full-powered signal, as their two other outlets in Des Moines (HITS99.9 K260AM/KIOA) and Champaign (HITS99.7 WIXY-HD3 & W259BG), broadcasts on simulcasting HD radio subchannels and FM translators.
