Alcatel One Touch X020 is a Wireless HSDPA access device (modem) manufactured by TCT-Alcatel and notable for using the mini-USB interface (External mini-USB modem).
As a more recent example the Apple iPhone 5 and iPhone 4S support quad-band GSM at 850/900/1,800/1,900 MHz, quad-band UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA at 850/900/1,900/2,100 MHz, and dual-band CDMA EV-DO Rev. A at 800/1,900 MHz, for a total of 'six' different frequencies (though at most four in a single mode).
During 2007, an increasing number of telcos worldwide began selling HSDPA USB modems to provide mobile broadband connections.
An 802.11b/g wireless NIC (Broadcom BCM4312) is included for Wi-Fi, while Bluetooth 2.0+EDR and a built-in HSDPA modem are options.
In some rural areas, wireless technologies (WiMAX, LMDS, Satellite, HSDPA, ...) are used to provide wired-like services, the main provider of these services is Iberbanda (a Telefónica subsidiary like Movistar).
Currently, the product line-up consists of connect cards (for example, the GlobeTrotter HSDPA "7.2 Ready" data card), embedded wireless modules (for laptops and/or smartphones), fixed mobile devices (for example, a USB stick providing wireless broadband access via HSPA and UMTS networks) and software.
3/G/4G routers share Internet connections deriving from modems accessing various wireless broadband technology standards such as LTE, HSPA+/HSUPA/HSDPA, UMTS, and EVDO.
