Harvey A. Moyer

On March 29, 1909, Moyer received telegrams of congratulation from E. E. Cady of Goshen, New York and D. W. Fields of Brockton, Massachusetts, the latter stock raiser having recently paid the record price of $8,000 for a Holstein-Friesian cow.

During that period, Syracuse was home to four typewriter companies including L. C. Smith & Bros., The Monarch Typewriter Company, Remington Typewriter Company and Smith Premier Typewriter Works.

He is the co-founder, with Alan Charles Kors, of the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE), for which he also serves as the current Chairman of the Board of Directors.

A crowd of nearly 500 watched the rededication on 2005-03-03, with speeches delivered by former Senator John Glenn, Columbus Mayor Michael B. Coleman, Ohio Supreme Court Chief Justice Thomas J. Moyer, Ohio State President Karen A. Holbrook and Tami Longaberger, chair of the Ohio State Board of Trustees.

From 1979 to 1987, Moyer served on the Tenth District Court of Appeals for Ohio, which covers Franklin County.
