Arm ball

Hedley Verity in particular was well known for his fast inswinging arm-ball, often bowled at yorker length.

Ken Farnes

In 1938, Farnes bowled the Gentlemen to their second victory against the Players since 1918, taking 8-43 and 3-60, and he returned to the Test side for 4 Tests against Australia in 1938, and he toured South Africa that winter, opening the bowling in 5 Tests with Hedley Verity.

Len Wilkinson

On the tour, there were three more senior spinners than Wilkinson: Tom Goddard, Hedley Verity, and Doug Wright.

Nick Knight

Knight's middle name was in honour of the 1930s English Test bowler Hedley Verity who was killed in World War II and is a distant family relation.
