The Hezb-e-Islami Gulbuddin is an Afghan political party and militia, led by former Afghan Prime Minister Gulbuddin Hekmatyar.

The Afshar Operation was a military operation by Ahmad Shah Massoud and Burhanuddin Rabbani's Islamic State of Afghanistan government forces and Abdul Rasul Sayyaf's Ittehad-i Islami forces against Gulbuddin Hekmatyar's Hezb-i Islami and Abdul Ali Mazari's Hezb-e Wahdat militias in the densely populated Afshar district in west Kabul.
Fascism in Iran was organised SUMKA (Hezb-e Sosialist-e Melli-ye Kargaran-e Iran or the Iran National-Socialist Workers Group), a neo-Nazi party founded by Davud Monshizadeh in 1952.
In 2002 the Hezb-e Islami is reported to have split, with the hard-line Islamists, including Kashmir Khan, remaining with the party's leader, Gulbuddin Hekmatyar.

The Asia Times reported, on February 8, 2006, that Khan was alive, and still serving as a commander for the Hezb-e Islami.
Most of these leaders congregated in Peshawar and tried to make contact with the leadership of two already established organization Hezb-e Islami and Jamiat-e Islami Afghanistan which they had heard of prior to their arrival because of the their declaration of jihad and clandestine distribution of publications critical of President Daud.
