Bergsøysund Bridge

The bridge designers researched other bridges in the world and traveled to the state of Washington in the United States to visit the Homer M. Hadley Memorial Bridge and the Hood Canal Bridge—two floating bridges.

MV Kulshan

While the Hood Canal Bridge was not reopened again until October 25, 1982, the Kulshan was returned to the Mukilteo-Clinton run in 1981 when she was replaced at Hood Canal by a larger ferry.

MV Rhododendron

Her original use in Washington from 1953 to 1961 was on a route from the Olympic Peninsula to the Kitsap Peninsula, near the current site of the Hood Canal Bridge.
